More About John Taylor

14 YEARS IN THE YUBA-SUTTER REGION

John has been working in the Yuba Sutter Region since 2004.  After first evaluating the market for a regional new home builder, he then moved on to selling the newly built homes. That work expanded into organizing the 13 production home builders in the Plumas Lake Specific Plan into a cooperative marketing plan.  At that time, John was also appointed as one of five Yuba County residents to serve on the 2005 Yuba County General Plan Update Committee.

John served as Co-Chair of the South Yuba Economic & Improvement Committee for seven years.  They held monthly meetings hosted by Mary Jane Griego, a member of the Yuba County Board of Directors. The program consisted of bringing in speakers for public presentations on matters of interest to residents and businesses in South Yuba County.  The speakers were those leading the effort on each of these subjects covering the widest range of public interest and impact.

In 2006, John became a consultant to land owners and general commercial brokerage.  Of note was his experience consulting with a group awarded a contract to develop the southern portion of Beale Air Force Base into a major industrial park.

Over the last ten years, John has worked as a local leader of a support group to bring Enterprise Rancheria’s proposed casino to South Yuba County.  The project recently began construction, following years of delays from legal challenges and stalled government approvals.  Enterprise Rancheria has formed a joint venture with the Hard Rock Casino organization to develop a major hotel and casino in South Yuba County.  The project is tentatively named the Hard Rock Fire Mountain Casino.
